The Italian Villa
Experience The Local Life In The Heart of Italy
ATTRACTIONS
Our Italian Villa is just outside Ostuni, central to Puglia and within easy driving distance of many beautiful and interesting locations including Bari, Brindisi, Lecce, Alberobello, Otranto, Martina Franca and Fasano (including zoo safari).
Within minutes drive from the Villa is Ostuni, a beautiful medieval town with white-washed houses, windy cobbled streets and breath taking views across the countryside and natural coast line. A short drive away are the unspoiled sandy beaches lapped by the clean waters of the Adriatic. The whole area is a food and wine lovers paradise with local fresh produce and wonderful local wines available everywhere. Puglia being a peninsula is flanked by both the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, no wonder the numerous fresh fish shops outnumber the butchers. This is no holiday for those seeking mass tourism, slot machines, English pubs or fish and chip shops but it is for those who love quality but inexpensive restaurants, the atmosphere of local piazzas, friendly people, relaxed living and some of the best ice cream and coffee around. Travel into the countryside with the endless olive groves and orchards and you will also find local restaurants with the finest of local food.

Fazano Zoo Safari
Come face to face with some of the fastest, tallest, largest and cutest animals around at Brindisi Zoo Safari.
This is a great day out for all the family and a fantastically kept facility, you'll see Elephants, Tigers, Lions, Rhino, Zebra, Monkeys, Bears, Giraffe and many more during your drive through the safari or walk around the zoo.
Brindisi Zoo Safari also boasts rides and attractions, including a rollacoasta, dolphin display (not to be missed), fairground rides, tropical fish and reptile house, 4d theatre... the list goes on. It's one of our favourite days out

Coastal Train Tour
Up and down the Adriatic on the east coast of Puglia (closest to the villa), and the Ionian on the west coast, there are many beaches to discover. From nature reserves with wide expanses of sand and sea to commercialised lidos with facilities. From small sandy bays to rocky inlets there is something for everyone. Many of the commercialised beaches offer windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and scuba-diving activities.
Some noteworthy beaches and lidos near the villa include: Torre Canne, Lido Morelli (a long beach with dunes), Quarto do Monte (nice small beach), Torre Pozzella (a series of small beaches) and toward Brindisi the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto. You also have Lido Bosca Verde, Torre Santa Sabina, Specchiolla, Monticelli Beach, Spiaggia Mezzaluna, Stabilimento Balneare Il Faro.
But don’t miss the beauty of the more natural and dramatic coastline this area has to offer, such as La Dolce Vita Beach, Torre Beach Pozzelle or the tranquil marinas like Villanova. Go explore!

City Tours
Another highlight of the region is the fairytale-like town of Alberobello, located in the picturesque Itria Valley. It is so unique it has been designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site because of its famous 14th century Trulli’s, the iconic beehive-shaped white capped buildings that give the town a Disney-esque feel wherever you turn.
In summer Alberobello plays host to a number of festivals, including folk, classical, jazz and popular music festivals, as well as dance, theatre, street theatre and children’s events. There are also religious festivals with music performances and firework displays. Most of the performances are free and open-air.
